ITEMS OF INTEREST Samaria Outreaches
The basic response to being filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) is that we are to be witnesses in Jerusalem (our town), Judea and Samaria (towns near us), and the ends of the earth (international ministries). Therefore, our desire is to put on a Samaria Outreach (a.k.a creative evangelism seminar) for a local church in a town near us every 6 to 8 weeks. About 40 New Song Church participants spend a Saturday joining participants of the host church doing ministry in teams such as:
What fun! And what an energizing, unifying ministry for all involved. The outreach includes seminar training, a pizza supper, Holy Spirit Soaking Seminar, and an opportunity to minister to the host church the next day (Sunday). Quotes from people who have taken part in Samaria Outreaches"If you haven't done a Samaria Outreach, you are missing all the fun!" "Samaria Outreaches always seem as much a blessing for those who go as for the church where we minister." "As a person who is regularly involved with foreign missions, I love the Samaria Outreaches because they give a full experience of missions that keeps me feeling involved in missions throughout the year. God's annointing as we work and bond as a team really refreshes me and gives me the courage to evangelize in my everyday life." "Dear fellow believers, a Samaria Outreach is the closest I've gotten to the thrill of overseas missions. Go for it! Our God is full of surprises and excitement when we dare to step out of our comfort zone!" "It's a total privilege to be involved and very fun and enriching." "There are two aspects of our Samaria Outreaches which I especially love: first, we get to know and love our brothers and sisters from another church family, and second, we have set time apart to go do what God calls us to do and He always has blessed that effort that we make with an outpouring of His Spirit." "God shows up every time." "Sermon Fodder! I love being able to tell stories about crazy moments when God breaks into people's lives... I am sure evangelism is not supposed to be this fun!" |
