A Simple Process for Making Disciples
At New Song Church our mission is revival: The personal, regional, and global expansion of God's Kingdom through His manifest presence. In order to pursue this mission we are seeking to obey the Lord’s words in Matthew 28: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” We have prayerfully developed a simple process to help us make disciples of Jesus Christ: Enjoy God, Love One Another, Release the Kingdom of Heaven. Enjoy GodDisciples of Jesus should we people who enjoy God. We love what John Piper says about enjoying God: “God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in him”. We believe the most important thing we can do as disciples is wholeheartedly pursue our happiness in God. Read more about the Enjoy God step in our simple process. Love One AnotherDisciples of Jesus should be people who love one another. The New Testament is full of exhortations to love one another. Jesus taught us to pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” It is our assignment to partner with God to advance His kingdom (His rule and dominion) on earth. We do this through prayer, evangelism, loving the poor, healing the sick, and casting out demons. Jack W. Hayford wrote, "Prayer is essentially a partnership of the redeemed child of God working hand in hand with God toward the realization of His redeptive purposes on earth." C. Peter Wagner wrote, "We must understand that our sovereign God has for His own reasons so designed this world that much of what is truly His will He makes contingent on the attitudes and actions of human beings. He allows humans to make decisions that can influence history... Human inaction does not nullify the atonement, but human inaction can make the atonement ineffective for lost people."
