Releasing the Kingdom of Heaven
Our fourth core discipleship value is Releasing the Kingdom of Heaven. Simply put, releasing the kingdom of Heaven means" experiencing Jesus and expressing Jesus” as a lifestyle. In Acts 10:38 we are told that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and “He went around doing good, and healing all who were under the power of the devil.” As part of the body of Christ on the earth today we continue that ministry of Jesus as we are filled with the Holy Spirit, rest in His presence, and are “open for business” for the Holy Spirit nudging us to do good to people in need, including “healing the oppressed,” giving prophetic destiny words, words of knowledge, helping people be delivered from evil spirits, helping people be set free from emotional pain, and winning people to Christ. We also release the kingdom of Heaven through simple kindnesses like giving words of encouragement, feeding the poor, and blessing people any way we can, all through the authority and love of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. All these good works are supernaturally empowered by the presence of the Holy Spirit and release His Heavenly kingdom to this earth. The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:10 tells us that “we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We believe that God has strategically placed each of us where we live, work, and go to school, and that He has supernaturally empowered us to do a series of good works that He personally has prepared in advance for us to do. This is the Jesus lifestyle. As we do these good works we are all being cultural pastors, experiencing and expressing the person of Jesus, “releasing the kingdom of Heaven” into the world where God has strategically placed us. We also seek to release the kingdom of Heaven through Holy Spirit guided and empowered soul winning. We want to take seriously the command of Jesus to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” We want to see as many people as we can pray prayers to receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord. We want to see as many people as we can experience the continual tangible presence of the Holy Spirit filling their lives, knowing from first hand experience what the Bible calls the "peace that passes understanding," and the "joy unspeakable and full of glory." |
