Ministries at New Song Church

Our basic philosophy of ministry is that all Christians (1) have a calling to be ministers of the Gospel, (2) have specific talents and gifts that are useful for the advancement of God’s Kingdom, and (3) have access to the Source of power Himself, the Holy Spirit, who enables us to do the kinds of things that Jesus did on earth. Consequently, the ministries listed in a New Song bulletin are as creative and unique as the people who started them! Anything from cooking breakfast for the homeless to finding wedding gowns for low-income brides to sharing the Gospel in home-to-home evangelism--we see a need and meet it in Jesus’ name. Pastor Dan has been known to say that when a new ministry is endorsed at New Song, it is simply making a sidewalk where the paths already are; in other words, it is the people out there doing God’s work, not just the pastors. The majority of our more than forty creative outreaches were started by lay people in the church.

Because prayer is essential to the effectiveness and success of any ministry endeavor, we continually emphasize spending time with God in corporate and private prayer, asking for His favor, and then thanking Him when He grants it.

We firmly believe that an ungodly lifestyle cannot co-exist with a sincere and effective testimony. Ministries led by individuals who disregard Biblical values are neither endorsed nor tolerated at New Song.
