Training & Equipping

Pastor Dan says that “a person who is overflowing with joy and power and anointing of the Holy Spirit is compelled to minister the love and grace of Jesus to people.”  To live an effective Christian life, we must be filled with the Spirit who instructs, empowers, sanctifies, inspires, and enables us to walk like Jesus did in this world.  As we experience God in the teaching of His Word, as we come face to face with Him in worship, and as we give ourselves to others for His sake, He pours out more and more of Himself.

The Word of God is the ultimate teaching manual for the Christian life.  We study God’s Word through expositional preaching during Sunday morning and evening services, as well as at various meetings throughout the week.  We offer Biblical studies classes through Rose City College, we have an internship program, and we have a myriad of small group studies available.

At New Song we recognize the necessity of both theoretical and practical training; in other words, the lecture and the lab work best when they are together.  For example, the Saturday morning outreach combines a message from the Scripture, a prayer time, and then home-to-home evangelism.  Also, in the last two years we have conducted twenty creative evangelism training seminars for other churches; these include Biblical training followed by hands-on ministry to the community.
